Intro

A black hole is trying to pull you in. Your ship is equipped with advanced technology that allows it to manipulate the spacetime around it.

To escape you must rotate the universe to align rings of time. When the ring of time you currently occupy is aligned with the next outer ring, your ship can warp out.

Time runs slower the closer you are to the black hole, but you must act fast or be lost forever.

Controls

Gamepad

D-Pad

Up: Rotates the universe counter-clockwise. Additional control options: Right, R1, R2

Down: Rotates the universe clockwise. Additional control options: Left, L1, L2

NOTE: In v1.1.0, the default controls for left and right were swapped, and new control options "Inverted" and "Inverted Loose" were added.

A button

Fire: Press this button to shoot.

Warp: When your ship is touching a ring's exit, this button will warp you out to the next ring.

X button

Use powerup: After you collect the bomb powerup (only in survival mode), you can press this button to use the bomb.

MENU button

Pause: If you wish to interrupt play in the middle of a game, press this button. Press the MENU button again when you wish to continue playing.

Special note for Apple TV: It is possible to use the Siri Remote, but we strongly recommend playing with a gamepad. This game requires precise inputs and the touch surface of the Siri Remote is not ideal. If you're having a hard time controlling the game with the Siri Remote, try using the bottom left and right corners of the touch surface (we've noticed the middle of the touch surface doesn't work as well).

Touch devices

Rotostellar was designed to be played with one hand (one finger), but it is possible to play with two hands (two fingers).

Swipe gesture (anywhere on the screen)

Up: Rotates the universe counter-clockwise.

Down: Rotates the universe clockwise.

Tap gesture (anywhere on the screen)

Fire: Tap to shoot.

Warp: When your ship is touching a ring's exit, a tap will warp you out to the next ring.

Use powerup

After you collect the bomb powerup (only in survival mode), you can tap on the player to use the bomb.

Pause

To pause the game, tap the pause icon in the top right corner of the screen. To continue playing, tap the play icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Modes

Survival

This is the original game mode and the only one unlocked initially. You can unlock other game modes and color themes by achieving certain scores. There is no actual end to this mode, how high can you get?

Maker

Create and share your own levels! (Pssst.. I heard there might be some secrets here too)

Race to 20

20 total levels; all with the same goal, reach the 20th ring as fast as possible. Times are rated 0 to 3 stars.

Enemies

Spike

Watch out! Touching them will hurt you. Your shots are ineffective, and will bounce off, this strong enemy.

Seeker

When you're on the same ring, seekers will hunt you down! Keep rotating to stop them from getting closer.

Time Crawler

Like the seeker, time crawlers will come after you when you're on the same ring. They move at a much slower speed but are unaffected by the rotation of the universe!

The Flyer

A multi-dimensional being that appears randomly or in times of need. Friend or foe?
